The inversion
Every other finance app starts from your transactions and builds a picture. Pencil In starts from your commitments and lets the transactions flow in around them.
The ledger is the source of truth. The bank is the feed.
How it connects
Bank accounts link through Plaid. Sign-in is Sign in with Apple. Your ledger lives on your device and in your own iCloud; our server is only a custodian for the bank connection. Details in the privacy policy and the security overview.
